About Us

Founded in 1950, the West Kirby Musical Theatre Society, originally known as the West Kirby Light Opera Society (WKLOS), has established itself as one of the leading amateur musical theatre societies in the North West of England. Over the decades, the society has built a strong reputation for its exceptional choral singing and diverse musical repertoire.

The society has performed at numerous prestigious venues across the Wirral and Liverpool, including the Floral Pavilion Theatre, the Gladstone Theatre, the Empire Theatre, the Royal Court Theatre, the Philharmonic Hall, and St George’s Hall. As far back as our foundations, we even celebrated the Coronation of Queen Elizabeth II with a special concert at the Kingsway Cinema in Hoylake, in collaboration with the Hoylake Symphony Orchestra.

In January 2020, the society rebranded itself as the West Kirby Musical Theatre Society to better reflect the variety of shows it presents. The society continues to thrive, welcoming new members and delighting audiences with full-scale musical productions, such as “Company”, “Beauty and the Beast”, “Once Upon A Time At The Adelphi”, and “Betty Blue Eyes”

We meet every Monday at 7:30 PM at Greasby Methodist Church Hall and are always delighted to welcome new members. Join us and be part of our vibrant musical community!
